Your Career Opportunity

We are conducting a recruitment drive for a client in the banking sector, a leader in investment banking and financial services. The client's technology division provides world-class solutions supporting their Global Banking and Markets operations worldwide.

The Counterparty Credit Risk (CCR) management team is essential to the bank’s operations, ensuring accurate exposure calculations for thousands of clients globally every day. As part of a multi-year initiative, the team is developing a next-generation risk engine, leveraging modern microservices architecture and cloud-based solutions to enhance performance and scalability.

Key technologies include: Java SE, Spring Boot, Spring Cloud, Apache Beam, Apache Flink, Google Cloud Platform (GCP), Redis, REST APIs, Ansible, Jenkins.

What You’ll Do

• Design, build, and maintain microservices for the Counterparty Credit Risk platform, ensuring robust, reusable, and efficient Java code.
• Engage in the full lifecycle of the product, from problem discovery and prototyping to implementation and performance measurement.
• Apply test-driven development (TDD) practices and collaborate closely with team members and stakeholders across Europe and Asia.
• Focus on delivering high levels of performance, reliability, availability, and security.
• Mentor and coach junior engineers to foster skill development.
• Manage and support the platform, including incident resolution and problem management.
• Develop automated tooling to enhance support functions and streamline operations.

What You Need to Succeed in This Role

• A minimum of 4 years of experience designing, developing, and operating distributed systems using Java.
• Proven experience in developing microservices (REST APIs) with Java and Spring Boot, including tools such as Hystrix, Eureka, Zuul, Sleuth, Feign, and Ribbon.
• Proficiency in cloud technologies (GCP preferred) and familiarity with DevOps practices.
• Hands-on experience with test-driven development.
• A proactive approach and willingness to learn new technologies and business domains.
• A solid understanding of modern software development principles, including SOLID, KISS, DRY, and YAGNI.
• Strong problem-solving and communication skills; the ability to translate functional requirements into technical solutions.
• Previous experience in investment banking is an advantage.
• A track record of delivering innovative solutions to complex technical challenges.
