Data Platform Developer (80% remote/20% Berlin)

Hi!

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Data Platform Developer to enhance Data Services capabilities, focusing on Data Mesh architecture and a comprehensive data catalog. You will play a crucial role in developing and managing scalable data architectures that enable seamless data accessibility and interoperability across different platforms and applications.

Location: 80% Remote / 20% Berlin (1 week per month)

Rate: 150 - 350 PLN netto plus VAT / h

Responsibilities

• Develop, maintain, and scale data architectures, including databases, data lakes, and data warehouses.
• Champion the implementation of Data Mesh principles, fostering decentralized data ownership.
• Create and maintain a detailed data catalog to ensure all data assets are easily discoverable and accessible.
• Work closely with data scientists and analysts to structure and fulfill data requirements.
• Design and implement robust ETL processes and data governance policies to maintain high data quality and compliance.
• Collaborate with DevOps and Infrastructure teams to optimize data deployment in a Kubernetes environment.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Data Science, or related field.
• At least 5 years of IT experience with a minimum of 3 years in Big Data.
• Expertise in SQL, Java, Python, or Scala, and familiarity with a wide array of data technologies and frameworks.
• Strong background in data architecture and hands-on experience with modern data processing and integration tools.
• Proven ability to innovate and stay abreast of the latest trends in data engineering and Data Mesh.
• Comprehensive knowledge of RDBMS, NoSQL storages, timeseries databases, and workflow orchestration tools.
• Experience with data streaming and processing platforms such as Kafka and Spark.
• Proficient in deploying and managing data-intensive applications, with a strong focus on DataOps/DevOps principles.
• Excellent command of English.

• Advanced Kubernetes expertise, particularly in developing or managing Kubernetes operators for Big Data technologies.
• Deep understanding of data privacy best practices and DataMesh principles.
• Proficiency in German is a plus.
