IT Developer / Warehouse Management System (WMS) Application Engineer

As a Warehouse Management System (WMS) Application Engineer you are responsible for the development, implementation, and maintenance of DSV’s Warehouse Management System, RedPrairie Dispatcher. Primarily, this work centres on creating, editing, and tuning PL/SQL scripts, Report Building, UNIX scripting, and other technical tasks in an enterprise WMS that directly supports many DSV customer verticals that include Cosmetics, Fashion, Chemicals, and Manufacturing. This position fits within a larger global organization delivering first class support to both DSV customers and the DSV business.

Your responsibilities: 

• Implement and deploy setups and configurations of new sites/new customers
• Analyze the process dependencies, define, and build the related application configuration
• Support, deliver and maintain according to standards set forward
• Identify, specify, and build required changes on application, reporting and integration
• Develop test plans, scenarios, and secure successful execution
• Report development using different tools
• Deliver stable and quality application configuration and development which adheres to business needs
• Support new customer implementations either on site (travel required) or remotely as needed
• Proactively and effectively collaborate across the very broad spectrum of DSV internal customers and stakeholders, DSV IT and external vendors
• Contribute in Continuous Improvement workshops and exercises

Our requirements: 

• Minimum of 3 years in IT (or IT equivalent) 
• SQL experience (PL/SQL or T-SQL)
• Exceptional fluency in writing SQL queries to include tuning and optimizing poor performing queries
• Strong proficiency in basic MS Office applications 
• Strong communication skills in both written and verbal, also in English
• Ability to connect well with a remote team, contribute and communicate ideas and feedback in a constructive, helpful way
• Ability to work effectively in high-pressure situations that require sound decision making
• Strong problem-solving, critical thinking, deductive reasoning, inductive reasoning, and analytical skills
• Ability to communicate technical to a non-technical audience; as well as the ability to facilitate both small and large groups in a variety for forums
• Ability to forge strong working relations with every level in the organization, including all internal and external customers
• Self-starter, able to meet deadlines and ability to work and follow department processes
• Assertive and result-focused
