Lead Cloud Engineer (Azure & Python)

PROJECT INFORMATION:

At Emagine we are partnering with a world-leading healthcare company looking for a Lead Cloud Engineer, who will spearhead the design, development, and maintenance of our client's Golden Image and Patching Solution—a service responsible for keeping cloud-based virtual machines current and secure. This includes OS patching for Azure VMs, maintaining security agents, and building a Compute Compliance Service to identify and remediate non-compliant AWS and Azure VMs. Operating in a DevOps capacity, this person will monitor services, troubleshoot issues, and drive automation, while collaborating with an Agile team through daily stand-ups, iteration planning, retrospectives, and backlog refinement.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Write and maintain Python scripts and tests (using PyTest & Behave).
• Create and manage Powershell and shell scripts for automation.
• Integrate new features into the Azure and AWS cloud environments.
• Monitor system health and performance; diagnose and resolve issues in real-time.
• Lead incident resolution, ensuring minimal disruption to critical business operations.
• Work closely with product owners, scrum masters, and fellow engineers to refine requirements and deliver solutions.
• Participate in daily stand-ups, sprint planning, and retrospectives.
• Ensure that all VMs across Azure and AWS meet client’s stringent patching and security requirements.
• Develop automated processes to identify and remediate non-compliant systems.

REQUIREMENTS:

• 4–5 years of experience in cloud engineering (Azure preferred) and DevOps.
• Proven track record with Python (PyTest & Behave) and PowerShell or shell scripting.
• Hands-on expertise with Azure services/APIs (ARM templates, Azure CLI, etc.).
• Test automation experience using the Python Behave library (or similar).
• Strong problem-solving mindset and ability to work autonomously.
• Excellent communication skills—comfortable collaborating with international, cross-functional teams.
• Familiarity with Agile (SAFe, Scrum) methodologies is a plus.
