About the role

As a System Administrator, you will be part of Application Platforms team at ERGO located in Poland and Germany. Together we operate with several types of Application Servers (Oracle Fusion Middleware, JBoss EAP, Tomcat), fulfilling all the needs of our internal developers. While working with a high degree of independence as well as responsibility, we’ll try to automate our administrative tasks as much as possible so that we can focus on new platform features and optimization.

How you will get the job done

• being responsible for the implementation, operation, and development of different types of Application Server infrastructures
• administering Oracle Fusion Middleware, JBoss EAP, Tomcat installed onpremise on RedHat Enterprise Linux
• planning and implementing systems automation with Puppet/Foreman as required for better efficiency
• participating in general IT operations and user support
• monitoring the infrastructure and ensuring high availability
• implementing backup, restore, and disaster recovery processes
• identifying and mitigating system vulnerabilities

Skills and experience you will need

• fluency in English (spoken and written) at minimum B2 level
• 3+ years of experience as an Application Server Administrator (Oracle Fusion Middleware, JBoss EAP)
• advanced Linux (RHEL) operating skills
• knowledge of systems automation with Puppet/Foreman and scripting
• good understanding of administrator principals
• Apache Webserver administrating experience
• knowledge of an Active Directory architecture
• experience with ITIL
• analytical thinking, problem-solving
• continuous improvement attitude and proactive mindset
• being a team player and willing to share the know-how with the team
• prioritizing and handling workload effectively
• good communication skills and a positive attitude

Nice to have

• German language proficiency (at minimum B1 level)
• administrating experience with applications like JIRA, Nexus, Bitbucket, and Jenkins would be beneficial
• knowledge of docker files and building containers
• Jira and Confluence (user)
• VMWare (user) knowledge
