What impact you can make:
We are looking for an experienced DevOps System Engineer to join our airspace industry project. Joining us you will be a member of a dynamic team to operate and maintain mission critical applications of the customer and work with the newest, state of art cloud native technologies both in the cloud and on-prem. This role might require travelling to Brussels, Belgium (up to 50%).
Role and Responsibilities:
- Implement improvements for continuous integration, delivery, and deployment through automation to ensure that products can be deployed fully automated and timely.
- Develop and enhance DevOps practices, promoting collaboration between development, maintenance, and operations teams, and driving continuous improvement.
- Ensure that all environment processes meet security, compliance, and data protection standards.
- Review and approve software and documentation produced by the external provider to ensure it meets the project's technical and functional requirements.
- Collaborate closely with the external provider and internal teams in an agile manner to ensure successful project delivery.
- Monitor and ensure that the developments adhere to the development processes.
- Maintain detailed records of reviews, approvals, and any required modifications or improvements.
- Provide technical guidance and support to the external provider to ensure alignment with project goals and standards.
- Identify and mitigate any risks associated with the software development and integration process.
Required Skills and Experience:
- Master’s degree in computer science.
- A minimum of 5 years’ relevant experience in a similar function.
- Fluent English, both written and spoken.
- Proficiency in Java for being able to assess and review backend and frontend applications.
- Proven experience with API standards (REST, Webservice) and OpenAPI.
- Proficiency in understanding Apache Kafka for building real-time data pipelines and streaming applications.
- Expertise in setting up and managing Jenkins pipelines for automated testing, integration, and deployment.
- Knowledge of Python to review scripting, automation, and developing custom tools.
- Experience in using Maven for managing Java project dependencies and automating the build process.
- Proficiency in using Git for version control, including branching, merging, and managing pull requests.
- Knowledge of monitoring tools (e.g., Prometheus) and experience with logging solutions (e.g., ELK stack) to ensure system reliability and performance
- Familiarity with Azure and their services for deploying and managing applications.
- Knowledge of security best practices in DevOps, including securing CI/CD pipelines, managing secrets, and ensuring compliance.
Nice to have:
- Knowledge of French is an asset.
