Role overview

As a Senior Ruby on Rails Developer, you will be a key player in developing and optimizing our application. You will work in a cross-functional team, including product owners, front-end and back-end developers, and testers, to implement high-quality solutions that drive business growth. Your responsibilities will include designing, developing, and maintaining scalable and robust features in Ruby on Rails while ensuring code quality and best practices. You will collaborate with front-end developers to integrate user-facing elements and optimize application performance. Additionally, you will be responsible for troubleshooting issues, performing code reviews, working with database technologies such as PostgreSQL, and occasionally manage releases to production. You will also implement and maintain automated testing frameworks while staying up to date with industry trends and emerging technologies.

Required skill set:

• 5+ years of experience working with Ruby on Rails in a production environment.
• Strong grasp of Object-Oriented Programming (OOP), including core principles (e.g., SOLID), design patterns, and writing maintainable, modular, and reusable code.
• Experience with RESTful API development and third-party integrations.
• Proficiency in database management using PostgreSQL, MySQL, or similar.
• Proficiency in testing practices (RSpec).
• Proficiency in version control (Git).
• Familiarity with containerization concepts and tools, particularly Docker
• Solid understanding of Agile methodologies and CI/CD pipelines.
• Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work independently.
• Relevant education (M.sc of computer engineering, or similar).
• Proficiency in English with excellent communication skills.

Nice to have:

• Experience with Domain-Driven Design (DDD) - implementing business logic through bounded contexts and domain models.
• Familiarity with microservice architecture and serverless technologies
• Knowledge of backend development in Node.js/NestJS.
• Experience with Kafka or other event streaming platform.
• Proficiency in Swedish and/or Polish.

Step 2: A technical interview with live programming, to discuss different aspect of engineering.

Step 3: Team interview with parts of the Engineering team, to meet more friendly faces and potential colleagues.
