Senior Windows Engineer

We are seeking a highly skilled Windows Systems Engineer with expertise in SolarWinds, Infoblox, Active Directory, IIS, Chef, and Terraform to join our Windows Server & Infrastructure Engineering team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for designing, implementing, and automating Windows Server infrastructure to enhance performance, security, and scalability across the enterprise.

Key Responsibilities:

• Administer, configure, and optimize Windows Server (2016, 2019, 2022) environments to support enterprise operations.
• Manage and maintain Active Directory (AD), Group Policy, DNS, DHCP, and Identity Management solutions.
• Oversee and troubleshoot SolarWinds platform management as well as monitoring for performance optimization, alerting, and system health checks.
• Configure and manage Infoblox DDI (DNS, DHCP, IPAM) to ensure efficient network services and address management.
• Deploy, maintain, and secure IIS (Internet Information Services) for hosting web applications and enterprise services.
• Implement automation and infrastructure-as-code (IaC) solutions using Terraform and Chef to improve operational efficiency and consistency.
• Develop and maintain Chef cookbooks for configuration management and automated deployments.
• Monitor and maintain server performance, patching, security hardening, and compliance policies.
• Troubleshoot complex infrastructure issues and collaborate with cross-functional teams on enterprise-wide projects.
• Assist in disaster recovery planning, backup strategies, and system redundancy implementations.
• Provide documentation, standard operating procedures (SOPs), and knowledge transfer to internal teams.

Qualifications & Experience:

• 5-10 years of experience in Windows Server administration and infrastructure engineering.
• Strong expertise in Active Directory architecture, security, and authentication protocols.
• Hands-on experience with SolarWinds for platform management, monitoring, performance tuning, and alert configuration.
• Proficiency with Infoblox DDI (DNS, DHCP, IPAM) administration and troubleshooting.
• Solid experience managing IIS for enterprise applications, including SSL/TLS, security configurations, and web deployments.
• Experience with Terraform for infrastructure automation and cloud provisioning.
• Expertise in Chef for configuration management, writing cookbooks, and managing automation pipelines.
• Strong scripting and automation skills using PowerShell, VBScript, or Python.
• Knowledge of networking fundamentals, firewall rules, and enterprise security best practices.
• Experience working in high-availability, mission-critical environments with disaster recovery strategies.
• Strong troubleshooting skills and ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment.
• Relevant certifications such as Microsoft Certified: Windows Server Hybrid Administrator, Infoblox Core DDI, Chef Certified Developer, Terraform Associate, or SolarWinds Certified Professional are a plus.

Preferred Skills:

• Experience with Azure AD, Azure Infrastructure, and cloud-based identity management.
• Experience with Managing, maintain and troubleshooting the Solarwinds Platform
• Experience with additional automation tools such as Ansible / Chef, and Terraform
• Knowledge of PKI (Public Key Infrastructure), certificates, and security best practices.
• Experience working in a large-scale enterprise with 24/7 operational support requirements.
