Minimum qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Math, related technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
• 5 years of experience with C++ or Python.
• Experience with machine learning or artificial intelligence concepts or technology.
• Experience developing, launching products, or technologies with LLMs.

Preferred qualifications:

• Master’s degree or PhD in Engineering, Computer Science, or a technical related field.
• 1 year of experience in a technical leadership role.
• Experience developing accessible technologies.

The Google Cloud AI Research team addresses AI challenges motivated by Google Cloud’s mission of bringing AI to tech, healthcare, finance, retail and many other industries. We work on a range of unique problems focused on research topics that maximize scientific and real-world impact, aiming to push the state-of-the-art in AI and share findings with the broader research community. We also collaborate with product teams to bring innovations to real-world impact that benefits our customers.

Responsibilities

• Generalize and develop models/LLMs to automatically detect document structure.
• LLM fine tuning to improve model performance.
• Understand complicated table structures and leverage the understanding to improve search and summarization results.
• Individually develop and collaborate with numerous research partner teams to bring the best of Google models to our customers.
• Conduct offline and online quality experiments and analysis across large enterprise customers.
