Software Engineer II, Health and Trackers, Data Foundation

Minimum qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience.
• 1 year of experience with software development in one or more programming languages (e.g., Python, C, C++, Java, JavaScript).
• 1 year of experience with data structures or algorithms.
• 1 year of experience building and developing large-scale infrastructure or distributed systems.

Preferred qualifications:

• Experience with one or more general purpose programming languages, including Java, C/C++, C#, Python, Go.
• Familiarity with Google tech stack (e.g., Borg, Boq, Spanner, Flume).
• Ability to learn other coding languages as needed.
• Excellent written/verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Learn and improve the processes/procedures that support our core services.
• Design, develop, test, deploy and monitor mission critical and user facing features.
• Migrate existing Fitbit platforms/services to the Google ecosystem.
• Collaborate with different teams inside Fitbit and Google (e.g., Identity, Product Security, Customer Support, Product Management, feature development teams, Cloud Infrastructure, Database Engineering, Site Reliability Engineering).
