    Minimum qualifications:

    • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience.
    • 2 years of experience with software development in one or more programming languages, or 1 year of experience with an advanced degree.
    • 2 years of experience with data structures or algorithms in either an academic or industry setting.
    • 2 years of experience building and developing infrastructure, distributed systems or networks, or experience with compute technologies, storage, or hardware architecture.

    Preferred qualifications:

    • Master's degree or PhD in Computer Science or related technical fields.
    • Experience with distributed computing.
    • Experience with building highly reliable, large-scale systems.
    • Strong proficiency in C++.

This involves designing, implementing, and optimizing complex distributed systems, ensuring high availability and robust performance. This is a rare opportunity to be part of a greenfield project, building entirely new software components while also adapting existing libraries to ensure seamless integration and performance. This high-visibility, high-impact project will directly serve well-known internal clients, offering the chance to work on foundational systems that are vital to Google's operations.

    Responsibilities

    • Develop, maintain, and simplify complex systems, mainly in C++.
    • Engage with customers, participate in design and planning for large-scale, distributed systemshecking code in, accuracy, testability, and efficiency).
    • Help drive engineering excellence and improve reliability of the stack.
    • Review code developed by other developers and provide feedback to ensure best practices (e.g., style guidelines, checking code in, accuracy, testability, and efficiency).
    • Contribute to existing documentation or educational content and adapt content based on product/program updates and user feedback.
