As a software engineer, you will work on a specific project critical to Google’s needs with opportunities to switch teams and projects as you and our fast-paced business grow and evolve. In this role, you will work towards improving infrastructure which allows Googlers to administer production in a more collaborative and predictable manner, empowering better, more efficient (SREs), Software Engineers and Trusted Partner Cloud operators and easier spread of SRE best practices.

Responsibilities

• Design, implement, land and maintaining components and features of Zamm infrastructure.
• Develop software and infrastructure with a focus on long-term maintainability.
• Troubleshoot test infrastructure issues.
• Design and build simple modular systems to solve complex problems.
• Foster engineering best practices in testing, code reviews, and development.

Minimum qualifications:

• Bachelor's Degree in Mathematics, Business Administration, Computer Science, Finance, Statistics, a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
• 2 years of experience working with programming languages e.g., Java, Python, Go, JavaScript, C++.
• Experience in back-end coding.

Preferred qualifications:

• Experience working with some of the following: web application development, Unix/Linux environments, mobile application development, distributed and parallel systems, machine learning, information retrieval, natural language processing, networking, developing large software systems, or security software development.
• Experience developing production software.
• Ability to collaborate cross-functionally with teams.
• Ability to work independently on challenging problems and passion for quality.
• Ability to apply problem-solving skills to complex issues.
