Our client is building the EDP (Electronic Data Processing) Platform – aa internal cloud-native platform to support digital product teams across the energy sector. The platform is designed to accelerate software development and operations by providing teams with self-service capabilities across infrastructure, data, and DevOps tooling. Within this initiative, the DevOps team, which you will be a part of, ensures developers can focus on what matters most by automating overhead and optimizing workflows.
One key component of DevOps Team is the Collaboration Suite, which focuses on providing, managing, and continuously improving Jira and Confluence environments used company-wide.
As Squad Lead, you'll take charge of the Collaboration Suite Squad — a cross-functional team managing and optimizing Atlassian Jira and Confluence. You’ll combine technical hands-on work, architectural leadership, and team guidance to ensure collaboration tools are scalable, secure, integrated with the DevOps stack, and future-proof.
You’ll act as a System Architect within the platform organization, shaping how Atlassian tools fit into a broader DevOps and cloud-native ecosystem, while also mentoring your squad to deliver excellence.
Your main responsibilities will cover:
- Conceptualization and implementation of an effective Application Lifecycle Management strategy for Atlassian tools
- Give recommendations on the configuration, operation, and management of the Data Center version of Atlassian tools, such as Jira and Confluence, within sophisticated Kubernetes environments.
- Ensuring high availability and performance optimization for seamless user experiences.

Provide Architecture recommendations for DevOps team, management, and continuously update workflows and permissions to accommodate changing requirements and enhance operational efficiency, thereby supporting adaptive and secure collaboration capabilities.

Overseeing the management and updating of macros, plugins, and integrations. Ensure that integrated tools work in harmony, extending the functionality of Atlassian tools and enhancing user productivity.
- Development of cutting-edge software solutions with a focus on containerized applications, ensuring scalability, portability, and enhanced performance
- Preparation of comprehensive and strategic documentation for frequently performed tasks, which servs both internal and external customers.
Requirements:
- 8+ years of experience in DevOps

3+ years of experience in a technical leadership or architectural role, ideally as a Squad Lead, Team Lead, or System Architect — combining hands-on engineering with strategic decision-making.
- Strong hands-on expertise with Jira and Confluence (Data Center) — setup, configuration, operation.

Fluency in English and German (B2 or higher in both).
- Solid experience with Kubernetes, especially in creating/managing Kubernetes Operators.
- Programming skills in Go (for automating and managing operations).
- Proficiency with HELM for Kubernetes application deployment.
- Multi-tenant environmental experience.
- Integration experience with CI/CD tools, Git repositories (e.g., GitLab), and REST APIs.
- Experience with Terraform or other Infrastructure-as-Code tooling.
- Willingness to travel occasionally to Berlin for client visits
Nice to have:
- Experience with GitOps tools (ArgoCD or FluxCD).
- Jira/Confluence automation via ScriptRunner or similar.
