Global Defense Engineering is responsible for fielding solutions that help defend HSBC against a wide range of threats to the business as well as its customers, clients, partners, and staff.  The team works in concert, with partner teams across HSBC, to implement novel defensive capabilities that are effective and adaptable against a constantly evolving threat landscape.  

What you’ll do

• Lead the design and planning for delivering core cryptography services to HSBC in line with the cryptography capability’s owner’s strategy.
• Manage the delivery of services that provide HSBC’s core cryptography solutions.
• Oversee the implementation of improvements to the handling of core cryptography services.
• Act as a key stakeholder in change programs delivering improvements to cryptography globally.
• Take the lead on larger, more complex engagements.

What you need to have to succeed in this role

• Bachelor's or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Security, or a related field. Directly related work experience may be substituted for a degree.
• Strong understanding of cryptographic principles, algorithms, and protocols.
• Familiarity with regulatory requirements and standards related to cryptography.
• Demonstrated experience in information security, with a focus on cryptographic services.
• Experience with HSMs, certificate authorities, and cryptography solutions.
• Strong problem-solving and analytical abilities.
