Summary:

One of the workstreams of InovIntell is the development and application of models for generating synthetic patients. Synthetic patient data mimic the properties of and relationships in real data. They may be used for anonymization purposes, counterfactual simulations, missing data imputation or extrapolation. 

We are seeking a talented and motivated mid-level Machine Learning Engineer to join our team. The successful candidate will contribute to the development, validation and application of models for generating synthetic tabular data. 

This position is open in partnership with the Public Health Laboratory of Aix-Marseille University (France), where the candidate will enroll in a PhD program in parallel. The selected candidate will be expected to develop academic publications based on the work conducted at InovIntell.

Key Responsibilities:

• Write Python code for the training, validation and application of machine-learning models for generating tabular data

• Analyze and pre-process ground truth data

• Propose adaptations in model architectures, training algorithms and validation methods for new applications

• Analyze generated data and propose and implement solutions to improve the performance of existing methods

• Proactively collaborate with internal and external clients to build synthetic datasets addressing business needs

• Publish the findings from model applications in peer-reviewed journals

• Continuously evaluate and experiment with state-of-the-art machine learning methods to improve product offerings

Requirements:

• Proven experience in machine learning and deep learning, including development of generative models, ideally for tabular data and time series.

• Experience in pre-processing tabular data

• Excellent programming skills, particularly in Python and relevant ML libraries (e.g., scikit-learn, PyTorch, Pytorch Lightning, Prophet).

• Experience with GCP or another cloud platform (Azure, AWS, ...)

• Strong analytical skills, ability to identify patterns in data and understand relationships between model inputs and outputs

• Ability to work effectively in a hybrid work setting and collaborate with an international team.

• Strong problem-solving skills

• A proactive approach to learning new technologies.

• Excellent communication skills in English, both written and verbal

• Bonus points for candidates with experience in the life sciences sector.
