As an Engineering Practice Specialist, you will be working for our client, a leading global financial institution driving digital transformation through technology modernization and operational excellence. You will be part of a strategic initiative within the Chief Technology Office aimed at enhancing DevSecOps maturity across engineering teams. Focused on developing engineering standards and fostering a collaborative, innovation-driven culture, you’ll help build and implement cutting-edge practices around CI/CD, DevOps, and SDLC processes. This role combines technical expertise, leadership, and the passion to influence change across a global technology landscape.
Your main responsibilities:
- Evangelizing engineering best practices within the engineering community
- Implementing and maintaining robust SDLC processes across teams
- Driving adoption of DevSecOps, CI/CD, and Infrastructure as Code principles
- Facilitating upskilling opportunities to address skill gaps and promote cross-functional growth
- Defining and monitoring metrics to measure Practice Group initiatives
- Promoting collaboration through internal workshops, meetups, and forums
- Supporting engineering pods in removing blockers to engineering adoption
- Contributing to architectural discussions and ensuring alignment with business needs
- Enhancing auditability and traceability by standardizing tools and processes
- Encouraging re-use of effective engineering solutions across platforms and teams
You're ideal for this role if you have:
- Proven experience in DevSecOps, CI/CD, or Software Development with at least 5+ years hands-on
- Strong generalist knowledge with deep expertise in at least one technical domain (e.g., Testing, Site Reliability, Software Development)
- Demonstrated ability to influence and drive engineering standards at scale
- Experience working across cross-functional technical domains
- Ability to think holistically and solve complex engineering problems
- Strong communication and leadership skills with a team-first mindset
- A proactive approach to identifying technical risks and business opportunities
- Comfort communicating technology to both engineering and non-technical stakeholders
- A track record of delivering impactful engineering solutions
- Passion for continuous learning and knowledge sharing within developer communities
It is a strong plus if you have:
- Experience with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or GCP
- Familiarity with containerization and orchestration (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes)
- Background in developer advocacy or managing developer communities
- Hands-on experience in regulated environments like financial services
- Relevant certifications (e.g., AWS Certified DevOps Engineer, Certified Kubernetes Administrator)
