We're seeking a Data Engineer to join our client's dynamic team. You'll be working with our technical services team to implement Customer Data Platforms (CDP) and other marketing solutions for our happy clients across the world. Working directly with clients and account managers, you will review existing data workflows, realise industry leading data strategy and successfully implement client deliverables using your data engineering prowess. We leverage SaaS platforms for development of data pipelines so you can focus on the data rather than the databases. To perform the above, youll need to have a solid understanding of SQL (not just the bare basics) and proficiency in python and Pyspark. While most data interactions will be confined to SQL databases, data ingress and egress can be from multiple potential data sources, and so being able to read from Authenticated REST APIs, glob storage and cloud platforms is a must.Fluent English is mandatory for this role as this role requires client interaction.

 

Responsibilities you'll have

• Develop bespoke technical solutions to big data SQL problems
• Working directly with clients to construct data oriented technical requirements from business requirements
• Use Python to collect data from multiple client data stores
• Designing sophisticated test cases to ensure data correctness and efficacy
• Ensuring data cleanliness and intelligibility

 

Expected competences and knowledge 

• 4+ years of experience in data engineering with data warehouse technologies
• Enterprise experience with Python, SQL and Pyspark is a must
• Hands-on experience with Databricks
• Strong understanding of ETL/ELT data pipelines using SQL
• Good understanding of data transformation tooling in Python (python packages like pandas for data manipulation, matplotlib for visualisation, for example)
• Perfect communication in written and verbal English
• Nice to have a degree, especially in computer science, maths or engineering, Snowflake or GCP, experience with DMPs, CDPs, ad-technologies, marketing automation, web analytics tools, personalization platforms and tag management systems and experience designing and building data
