    Maxio is on the lookout for a Product Manager, Billing —an innovative and experienced Product Manager with deep expertise in billing systems to join our dynamic team. This is a leadership role where you will drive the evolution of our billing products within Maxio’s cutting-edge SaaS platform. With your specialized knowledge of subscription billing models and financial systems, you will shape the future of our product offerings, optimizing our platform to scale with the growing needs of our customers.


    As the Product Manager, Billing, you will spearhead the development of billing features, ensuring they meet the highest standards for functionality, scalability, and compliance. You will collaborate closely with engineering, finance, design, and customer success teams, ensuring Maxio’s billing solutions continue to lead the market in innovation and customer satisfaction.


     

    Key Responsibilities:


    • Billing Product Strategy & Roadmap:
    • Lead the vision and strategy for Maxio’s billing-related features, ensuring alignment with overall company goals and market trends.
    • Develop and manage a comprehensive product roadmap for billing, revenue recognition, and subscription management features.
    • Collaborate with stakeholders across engineering, finance, and customer teams to shape and prioritize product initiatives.


    • End-to-End Product Management:
    • Drive the full product lifecycle from ideation to launch and beyond, ensuring the delivery of high-impact, customer-centric billing solutions.
    • Work closely with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless execution of product plans, balancing customer needs, technical constraints, and business objectives.

     

    • Billing Expertise & Compliance Leadership:
    • Apply your deep understanding of billing models (e.g., usage-based, tiered, metered) and revenue recognition practices (e.g., ASC 606) to ensure Maxio’s billing products are compliant, reliable, and scalable.
    • Partner with legal, finance, and tax teams to ensure compliance with global billing regulations, tax laws, and invoicing standards.

     

    • Customer-Centric Focus:
    • Be the voice of the customer, gathering and prioritizing feedback to drive the development of new features and product enhancements.
    • Maintain close relationships with internal and external stakeholders to ensure Maxio’s billing features address customer pain points and deliver value.

     

    • Collaboration Across Teams:
    • Work with marketing, sales, customer success, and support to ensure seamless go-to-market strategies and product adoption.
    • Provide internal teams with the necessary knowledge and resources to understand and sell Maxio’s billing solutions effectively.

     

    • Continuous Improvement:
    • Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) to assess the effectiveness of product features and continuously optimize for scalability, user experience, and performance.
    • Stay on top of emerging trends in subscription billing, payments, and fintech to keep Maxio’s products ahead of the curve.



    Required Skills & Qualifications:


    • Experience:
    • 3+ years of experience in product management, with a focus on billing systems, subscription management, or SaaS financial products.
    • Extensive knowledge of subscription billing models (e.g., metered billing, tiered pricing, consumption-based) and revenue recognition (e.g., ASC 606).
    • Prior experience working on B2B SaaS billing platforms or financial products related to invoicing, payments, and financial reporting.


    • Technical Skills:
    • Familiarity with APIs, integrations, and automation in billing systems.
    • Experience with product management tools (Jira, Confluence, etc.) and working in an Agile environment.


    • Communication & Leadership:
    • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to effectively present complex billing and product concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences.
    • Strong leadership and cross-functional collaboration skills.


    • Education & Certifications:
    • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Computer Science, Finance, or related field
    • Additional certifications or training in product management, SaaS billing, or financial systems is a plus.


    • Nice to have:
    • Experience with leading billing platforms such as Zuora, Stripe, or (Chargify).
    • A deep understanding of global tax compliance, invoicing standards, and accounting practices in a SaaS environment.
    • Prior experience in a fintech or SaaS startup environment.
