Currently, we are an exclusive Polish vendor for this particular client which is a very stable company that has been in existence for over 25 years and helps the world's leading asset managers, central banks, hedge funds, and other institutional investors access the liquidity they need through a range of electronic marketplaces and trades on average of about 30 trillion dollars A MONTH.
The Global Database Engineering & Operations Group within the Technology division is responsible for the entire database estate, ensuring extremely high levels of availability for the production, test, and development systems used by dealers, customers, and internal users.
🎯 Qualifications:
- College degree in computer science or a related discipline, or an equivalent level of technical knowledge required
- 10+ years of experience writing complex PL/SQL queries and authoring/debugging procedures, functions, and triggers
- 5+ years of providing 3rd line support for a complex, large-scale, high-transactional-volume system with very high availability requirements
- In-depth experience with Oracle internals, such as sessions, global session management, AQs, and extproc
- Experience in evaluating query performance and implementing changes/strategies to improve it
- Flexibility in work schedule is required as most developers are U.S.-based, and the production system operates from 08:00 to 17:00 Eastern Time
✨ Desirable Skills:
- An understanding of the fixed-income markets and the financial instruments traded on them
- Experience using SolarWinds Database Performance Analyzer (DPA)
🤝 Responsibilities
- Developing and modifying database schemas and code as per project requirements
- Building tools to enable DBAs and TechOps teams to debug production system issues
- Acting as 3rd line support for production issues where the database may be the cause or a contributing factor
- Evaluating database performance and suggesting improvements where appropriate
- Acting as a point of contact for application developers on best practices for database usage
- Investigating new database functionalitie
