Network Specialist Routing Switching

The company serves a wide range of clients, including large enterprises and organizations with complex IT needs and provides modern IT infrastructures and scalable cloud solutions, such as SAP and AI, customized to clients’ requirements. Our customer operates as a dynamic IT service provider, supporting the digital transformation of the German economy.

We are looking for a skilled and motivated (Regular/Senior) Network Specialist / Engineer to join our team and play a crucial role in integrating customers into our data centers / cloud environments. You will be responsible for designing and implementing stable and secure networks and network connections in adherence to the project requirements and our architectural standards. The focus is on Cisco technologies.

Main responsibilities:

• Design robust network solutions, including low-level design and technical implementation planning. Implement these solutions, document them, and ensure a smooth transition into regular operation.
• Plan and set up networks in preparation for data center/cloud migrations (SAP and non-SAP) and provide support throughout the migration process.
• Specialize in Cisco Enterprise Network, Data Center Network and Service Provider technologies, as well as hybrid and public cloud solutions.
• Gather and validate customer requirements, and support presales activities.
• Plan and implement proof-of-concept (PoC) projects to evaluate new technologies and solutions.
• Stay abreast of technological developments and contribute to service innovation. Identify automation potential and collaborate in the development and introduction of automated processes.
• Support our operational units in handling prioritized incidents and complex changes.
• Actively share knowledge among peers and with joiners.

Requirements:

• Completed training in IT or a successfully completed degree in computer science/business informatics or a comparable qualification. Several years of experience in planning and implementing complex network solutions, including migrations, as well as experience in operation and troubleshooting.
• Experience in customer consulting, including gathering and qualifying requirements.
• Professional-level knowledge of Cisco Data Center Network and Enterprise Network technologies. Vendor certifications are advantageous (i.e. CCNP).
• Knowledge of related data center domains, such as compute, virtualization, and storage is of advantage.
• Basic programming and scripting skills, as well as knowledge of network automation.
• Experience in managed services or service provider environments and knowledge of ITIL processes.
• Independent and proactive work style, strong customer and service orientation, curiosity, and openness.
