Senior Fullstack Python/Vue.js Engineer

We have experienced steady growth over the years and employ over 260 people globally. Nearly half of our team is based in Poland (CKEditor). We are currently seeking a Staff Software Engineer to lead the development of our globally used product, ButterCMS.

Your new role:

As a Senior Fullstack Engineer, you’ll work on key improvements across both the backend and frontend of ButterCMS. You’ll modernize our architecture, improve performance, and help deliver user-facing features with a seamless experience. Our core stack includes Django, PostgreSQL, Memcached, and Vue.js.

In addition to improving the core application, a major focus this year will be working on the migration of our billing and subscription infrastructure to a new platform—integrating systems such as Maxio, Salesforce, or other modern subscription management tools.

This is a B2B contract for a 12-month project, with a potential extension based on project scope and mutual agreement.

Key responsibilities:

• Building, optimizing, and maintaining backend services using Python and Django.
• Develop dynamic and responsive frontend features using Vue.js.
• Collaborate on UI/UX improvements to enhance the customer experience.
• Participating in technical design discussions and supporting the delivery of new product features.
• Collaborating with the other engineers to implement architectural improvements and performance enhancements.

To be successful in this role you need the following:

• Solid knowledge of Vue.js (or other JS frameworks) and TypeScript/JavaScript.
• Experience building web applications in Python, particularly with Django and PostgreSQL.
• Good grasp of software design principles, RESTful API design, and scalable architectures.
• A collaborative mindset and the ability to work effectively within a distributed team.
• Excellent communication skills and a proactive attitude.
• Interest or experience in AI technologies is a bonus.
• Experience working on maturing products or large codebases is a strong plus.
• Experience integrating third-party platforms (especially subscription/billing platforms) is a plus.
