Senior Java Software Developer

• As Java Software Developer, You will build and operate Vaillant’s new layer of API services enabling seamless integration for our digital frontends
• Additionally, supporting other development teams by wrapping re-usable functionality into stable, reliable, performant and secure APIs which are oriented along domain contexts is important to You
• You will (re)design existing and new APIs to shape our platform integration layer by implementing API versioning, gateways, transformations and aggregations
• With your expetise and knowledge, You will take over the responsibility to maintain and operate existing API services and integrate them into the new API layer
• Implementing the required tooling for monitoring and testing of APIs to continuously ensure quality is Your asset

What makes us successful together

• You have a degree with focus on Computer Science or a comparable qualification and already have 5+ years of professional experience as a Software Developer
• Additionally, You are familiar with development of Spring based Java webservices using REST architecture and tooling as well as You have deep experience in at least one of the following: PostgreSQL, Kafka, CI/CD pipelines or Azure
• A clear understanding of the implications of security, scalability, reliability and sustainability on API design makes You a suitable candidate
• You are familiar with agile software development methods, modern architectural patterns and tools 
• Proven experience in the implementation of complex integration scenarios with synchronous and asynchronous communication in distributed system environments as well as experience with GraphQL or gRPC based APIs or with protocol buffers are nice to have
• Your business-fluent English skills and your open and trustworthy personality enable you to communicate confidently with Developers and Product
