Python Engineer (pharma)

Tasks

• Design, update and maintenance of the Data Analytics Workspace (DAWS), an Azure Machine Learning workspace, which allows data scientists to analyse their data & RPMDA tools, a python package to simplify working with the data platform
• Support the on-boarding of data scientists to DAWS
• Investigate and fix issues reported by data scientists
• Participate in Scrum ceremonies to achieve sprint goals
• Conduct code reviews and guide deep technical discussions
• Create and maintain DAWS training material
• Gain expert knowledge in key software components & services
• Collaborate with colleagues across multiple product teams (e.g. DevOps, Data Engineers, Data Scientists, Cloud Engineers, Solution Architects, and Python Engineers)

Requirements

• Multi-year experience with Python for software development (knowledge of poetry, pandas, DASK is welcomed)
• Experience with large scale cloud based solutions (particularly Microsoft Azure)
• Ability to work in a team, manage competing priorities, and communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders
• Expertise in agile software development methodologies (e.g. SCRUM) and DevOps based development lifecycles preferred
• Experience with Git, Docker, CI/CD solutions (e.g. Gitlab, Azure DevOps), Kubernetes, MongoDB, Azure Machine Learning, preferred but not required
• R knowledge would be an asset but not a requirement
• Fluent in English
