We are searching for a Product Manager to Cloud & Platform Engineering

This position is based at our friendly office in Warsaw, and you will join our Platform Engineering Products area. The area is one of two Product areas that oversee setting the right direction for our products in close collaboration with customers, architects and delivery domains.

The Product Manager position for Cloud & Platform Engineering offers a unique opportunity for joining a product area where we over the coming years are looking into a bigger tech transformation. This area is one of the key drivers for ensuring that BEC increases efficiency in our development teams across BEC.

As Product Manager for this area, you will drive the tech agenda for Platform Products and Software tooling products in a direction that will help the internal customers of these products to have a solid and improved foundation and platform for succeeding with their goals.

In BEC we are working to become more Product centric in the way we provide value to our customers. As a Product Manager in Cloud and Platform Engineering, you will take up a key role in this transformation and you will be leading this change in your team. You will lead the Product portfolio and a team of six highly skilled Product Owners who will help you succeeding every day; three are located in Roskilde, Denmark and three are located in Warsaw, Poland. To ensure good collaboration and leadership, you will be expected to travel to Denmark when needed and at least 6 times per year.

You will be working closely together with both internal BEC customers and external customers to set the right direction for your products and to be able to execute on the roadmap created. You will also have a close collaboration with the delivery-domains, especially the platform-domain Software & Quality Engineering, that are responsible for executing the development plans.

At BEC, we prefer to collaborate often in the office, but we also keep the opportunity to work remotely up to 4 days per month. Your direct manager will be Casper Korsholm Baadsgaard Hansen.

Primary task and responsibilities include:

• Product Leadership – set the strategic direction for your portfolio of products that you are a Product Manager for and be curious on the market what are the trends, what does other players like us do in the market etc. 
• Ongoing prioritization that takes BEC overall priorities into account as well, update and maturement of a 5Q roadmap and 3-year strategies for your product area.
• Lead and develop a team of product owners.
• Facilitate and drive governance fora.
• Follow market trends and stay updated on how your products are performing compared to the market and build up a strong knowledge around your products.
• To succeed in the role, you need to work closely together with Head of Development for the development domain, Development Managers, Architects, Product Owners, other Product Managers and Customers.

To succeed you will have: 

• Experience from working with tech transformation at the platform level and products that enables development teams to perform more efficiently.
• Insight into technologies that play a crucial part in the platform products will be needed. These technologies relate primarily to the development process (DevSecOps) which we aim to simplify and automate.
• We expect familiarity with tooling used as part of the DevSecOps tool chains (plan, development, test, observability etc.) across several tech stacks (mainframe, OpenShift, Cloud) as well as primary integration platforms (Kafka and API’s). We don’t expect you to be an expert, but to have insight that enables you to address and manage problems at a strategic level, and well enough to work with architects and SMEs in the area.
• Excellent people and stakeholder management skills are essential.
• You find People Leadership motivating – you know how to show the way and perform balanced leadership meaning that you know when you must be firm and when to show empathy. You are good at motivating others, and you prefer to lead others by providing them intent.
• You are a product person deep in your DNA and have worked as a Product Manager, Product Owner, Head of Product before where you have demonstrated strong product leadership.
• Communication – you have excellent communication skills, and you balance your communication depending on who the receiver is.
• You are proactive and you finish what you start.
• Fluent in English (written and spoken).
