The Mobile team governs mobile engineering lifecycle activities providing standards, alignment, management oversight, and resource allocation in order to fulfill roadmaps, guard highest levels of quality, and operate on top of the best-in-class platform.
What you will be doing:
- DevOps engineers in the Mobile team are passionate, self-motivated individuals, who are comfortable building custom tooling in Python, writing documentation that scales across multiple teams, and can identify, design & build automated solutions to existing manual processes.
- Monitor, maintain & extend the existing in-house Mobile CI pipeline (Jenkins & Vagrant) & related services.
- Help to triage build Mobile CI pipeline failures in Americas timezone.
- Participate in building & configuration of automated tooling/reporting.
- Build & extend our custom tooling (Python) to fuel productivity throughout the mobile teams.
- Defining dashboards to monitor production services.
- Configuring altering and monitoring on live systems.
- Involvement in incident management and supporting production systems.
- Provide support to the development teams.
- Ensure that the mobile services conform to controls.
- Actively participate in the Mobile Engineering Discipline and associated communities.
- Expanding the CI capability.
- Managing our in-house CI service, built on top of Jenkins.
- Supporting procurement of external services.
- Building tooling to support automated app releases.
- Building custom tooling for our development teams.
- Engaging with the development teams to identify common problems and solutions.
What you will bring to the role:
- Needs to have practical knowledge about developing and releasing applications in Android ecosystem, Kotlin knowledge is must have, on top of DevOps skills.
- Mastery of Android SDK, different Android versions, and handling various screen sizes
- Experience with background processing, multi-threading, and asynchronous programming in Android
- Knowledge of Android's location and mapping capabilities
- Familiarity with integrating third-party libraries and
- Understanding of Android's permissions model and runtime permissions
- Experience with Android NDK and native code integration (C/C++)
- Knowledge of Gradle build system and dependency management
- Pecent-level knowledge of Android development and the Android ecosystem
- Proficiency in Java and Kotlin programming languages
- Solid experience in a Mobile Engineering environment.
- Hands-on with the continuous delivery of Mobile applications.
- Collaborating across teams.
- Knowledge of AWS for DevOps, basic services & concepts.
- Exposure to monitoring tools such as Splunk, AppDynamics, or Prometheus.
- Knowledge of JVM (memory spaces).
- Working knowledge of Python & Java, Bash scripting.
- Understanding of API Security.
- Troubleshooting skills.
- Performance testing.
