Senior Database Support Specialist

For our client, we are looking for an experienced Senior Database Support Specialist to join the team in Warsaw and help improve database support. You will be part of a team of over a dozen employees, including external consultants, supporting database infrastructure.

About the Team

In this role, you will closely collaborate with the Database Engineering team (responsible for governance, security, architecture, and design) and an external company handling daily support operations. Your goal will be to reduce the number and duration of major incidents, optimize resources (people, servers, licenses), and improve support for other IT and development teams. Work is conducted in a hybrid model – at least 2 days per week from the office.

Responsibilities:

• Manage and support databases, including MS SQL and Azure Cosmos.
• Handle daily DBA tasks such as diagnosing and troubleshooting issues, responding to incidents, restoring services, and providing technical consultation to other units.
• Plan and control IT operations, including defining and ensuring adherence to standard operating procedures, compliance with Engineering and Cybersecurity policies, patching, upgrading, hardening, and monitoring.
• Optimize database performance and security through proactive measures.
• Improve automation processes and streamline database operations.

Requirements:

• Experience in managing at least a few hundred MS SQL and Azure Cosmos databases.
• Strong skills in daily DBA management.
• Proficiency in planning and controlling IT operations.
• English proficiency at B2 level (spoken and written).
• Experience working in a financial institution is a plus.
