We are looking for a Product Expert who participated in services / activities of implementation or maintenance of IBM relational database software.
Requirements:
- Deep knowledge of Informix and/or DB2/LUW
- At least 5 years of experience in projects involving implementation or maintenance of IBM relational database software
- Ability to provide high quality technical documentation in Polish
- Self-confidence and team cooperation skills
- Preferably one of the certificates:
- IBM Certified System Administrator - Informix v. 12.10 or newer
- IBM Certified Application Developer – Informix 11.50,
- IBM Certified System Administrator – DB2 v. 10.5 or newer
Responsibilities:
For Customer instances of the IBM Informix, carrying out a maintenance inspection according to the following rules:
- checking the correctness of the delivered software in terms of version, level, patching and completeness,
- analysis of log entries for possible errors, warnings, non-standard and suboptimal behavior of the Software instance
- diagnostic testing, adjustments, tuning and maintenance to keep the Software in proper condition
- checking and indicating the limits achieved for database objects (e.g. extents, table size limit, etc.),
- analysis of the most burdensome SQL queries in 4GL, application Java and Business Objects,
- optimization of the most burdensome SQL queries,
- optimization analysis of the division of the production environment into IDS instances - a recommendation for the current hardware infrastructure and the best approach to implementation in a new hardware infrastructure - in terms of the best scaling of the database engine (vertical / horizontal)
- analysis of the creation and use of non-production environments completion of each of the maintenance inspections confirmed with a report containing the scope of work performed, recommendations and final conclusions
For Customer DB2 specific instances of the Software, carrying out a maintenance inspection according to the following rules:
- checking the correctness of the delivered software in terms of version, level, patching and completeness
- analysis of log entries for possible errors, warnings, non-standard and suboptimal behavior of the Software instance
- diagnostic testing, adjustments, tuning and maintenance to keep the Software in proper condition
- checking and indicating the limits achieved for database objects (e.g. extents, table size limit, etc.)
- analysis of the most burdensome SQL queries
- optimization of the 10 most burdensome SQL querie
- completion of each of the maintenance inspections confirmed with a report containing the scope of work performed, recommendations and final conclusions
Additionally, between maintenance inspections:
- Assistance in planning projects for the environment
- Analyze and recommend solutions to avoid problems after applying patches and workarounds
- Assistance in solving and coordinating the handling of complex technical problems, completed with a summary report and planned activities
- Analysis of technical solutions that minimize problems and improve the customer's environment
