We’re Markets & Securities Services IT Poland, a technology department providing technology services and solutions for the Investment Bank businesses at HSBC. Systems we create enable transactions across multiple asset classes. Our teams work in partnership with the business counterparts to deliver high-throughput systems, from low latency trading applications to large Microservices platforms. We also perform architecture and cloud migrations.

We are looking for a passionate full-stack engineer to join our newly built Prime Finance team in Krakow. 

You will get opportunity to working directly with our trading desk in NY / LON / HK, understand the Equity synthetic trading flow, as well as stock borrow lending business; collaborate with our global team on cross-country project delivery. You will also have opportunity to work with a global engineering team, adopting new tooling and cloud technology, developing web-based applications / micro services and join our DevOps transformation journey.

What you’ll do

• Deliver essential business functionality for the Synthetic trading business, as part of DevOps team.
• Work across the end-to-end delivery lifecycle alongside our partners in the business; from the inception through to production delivery and maintenance.
• Adhere to departmental technical principles and challenging them where appropriate.
• Develop close working relationship with stakeholders of varying levels of seniority across multiple business functions, including Trading, Sales and Compliance.
• Work alongside our colleagues in the broader regional Equities and Securities Financing department to ensure platform stability for our business.
• Build MI solution for business on all architecture levels.

What you need to have to succeed in this role

• Hands on experience in Java backend coding and relational database (SQL) with good understanding about DevOps culture, methodologies, coding, and automation.
• Proficiency in distributing computing principals and familiarity with key data architectures, technologies, and best practices.
• Extensive architecture and design experience with secure, complex applications across various data sources and multi-cloud platforms.
• Proven experience driving results with relevant technologies and methods, strong familiarity, and knowledge of cloud platforms such as Google Cloud Platform (GCP).
• Experience with Data Lake, Data Warehouse ETL build and design, implementing Big Data solutions leveraging GCP Big Data services (e.g. Cloud Storage, Pub/Sub, Dataflow, Cloud Composer, BigQuery, AI/ML Platform).
• Experience in Workload Migration Automation Tools and Infrastructure as Code (e.g. Terraform, Puppet, Chef, Ansible).
• Container, Orchestration and Microservices experience.
• Knowledge of software configuration management environments and tools such as JIRA, Git, etc.
