Main purpose of the position:

In ISS, the Head of Data Analytics and Data Science plays an important role in overseeing the development and implementation of the company’s data strategy in alignment with the company's strategic objectives. This position will require strong leadership skills, excellent communication skills, technical expertise, and a deep understanding of data technologies to drive operational excellence, optimize performance and costs of company’s data assets, and ensure the highest standards of reliability and security.

Leadership and Strategy:

The overall strategy is clear: To drive the value creation and business transformation with data for ISS globally. Our data journey is well under the way however there is work to be done when it comes to aligning the organizational workstreams to become a truly data driven organization. That’s why we seek a profile that can:

• Develop and implement the company’s data strategy in alignment with business objectives.
• Drive business transformation and bring entrepreneurial and innovative solutions into the organization.
• Lead a team of talented and experienced data professionals in the management, optimization, and enhancement of the company’s data assets.
• Collaborate with IT and business stakeholders to identify opportunities for leveraging company data to drive business solutions.
• Ensure compliance with data governance and data protection regulations.
• Effectively communicate and collaborate with the Board Room, EGM, business stakeholders, and customers to drive strategic alignment and achieve shared goals.

Business Intelligence and Data Science Management:

• Drive data management practices that include developing and implementing plans, policies, and procedures, establishing, and maintaining data standards, quality, and governance, designing, and managing data models and databases, integrating and migrating data from validated data sources.
• Effectively manage the area that focuses on development of statistical models, machine learning algorithms, and predictive analytics solutions to address business challenges.
• Support a company's decision-making process and to help managers and research analysts, make better and faster decisions based on data.
• Keep oversight of portfolio of projects related to different data solutions using BI, Data Science, ML and AI technologies. This involves accountability for planning, resource allocation, risk management, and ensuring projects are completed on time and within budget.
• Drive the data product management lifecycle from a strategic business transformation perspective. This includes all aspects of product management how data products are managed, deployed, and monetized.
• Collaborate with Security Architects in implementing security measures and compliance controls safeguarding data assets.

Team Development and Talent Management:

• Ensuring a high-performing team consisting of data professionals, fostering a culture of collaboration, innovation, and continuous learning.
• Provide mentorship, coaching, and professional development opportunities for data leaders to enhance their skills and capabilities.
• Foster strong cross-functional relationships with other IT and business teams to drive synergy and alignment.

Key qualifications:

• Proven experience in a leadership role overseeing Business Intelligence, Data Analytics and Data Science areas.
• Technical understanding of various data concepts, technologies, and services on conceptual level. This includes the modern data stack and data mesh.
• Strong understanding of finance in a corporate environment includes budgets, intracompany recharges, complex financial environments, contract management and commercial models for products delivered to customers.
• Solid and documented experience with adaptable agile/lean methodologies utilized for development of business intelligence solutions, analytics solutions, and data products to ensure quick support for changing business needs.
• Documented experience with change management from large scale digital transformation utilizing data as the key value driver.
• Excellent communication, interpersonal, and stakeholder management skills.
