Project

Join a cross-functional team to develop and maintain a scalable, high-performance procurement platform. The project leverages cloud technologies, event-driven architectures, and modern development practices, ensuring an innovative and future-proof solution. As a Senior Java Developer, you’ll focus on backend development (~80%), with basic frontend involvement (~20%). The team is small and self-sufficient, working in Scrum methodology and responsible for delivering everything end-to-end into production. The platform is used across public administration and enterprises in Europe, enabling efficient tendering and procurement processes while ensuring compliance with European regulations.

What you'll be doing

• Developing and maintaining backend services using Java (Spring Boot)
• Contributing to frontend development (React preferred, but Angular is welcome
• Working with AWS cloud technologies, including ECS, S3, RDS, and Kafka
• Building event-driven architectures with Kafka messaging
• Collaborating with cross-functional teams to define and deliver project requirements
• Ensuring system reliability through debugging, troubleshooting, and performance optimization
• Enhancing CI/CD pipelines and working in a DevOps-friendly environment
• Participating in code reviews, PR discussions, and team retrospectives to ensure high-quality development

Expected competencies and knowledge

• Proficiency in Java (Spring Boot) – Strong experience in building scalable applications
• Experience with AWS Cloud services, particularly ECS, S3, RDS, and KMS.
• Familiarity with event-driven technologies, especially Kafka
• Understanding of Infrastructure as Code (IaC), preferably CloudFormation
• Competence in CI/CD pipelines, software development lifecycle and test automation strategies
• Strong problem-solving skills with attention to detail and adaptability
• Effective communication skills – Ability to work collaboratively in a multicultural environment
