Job Description:
The Release Manager is responsible for effectively managing releases for large or complex projects. This role requires expertise in project/release implementation management, from scheduling and activity planning to resource coordination. The Release Manager will oversee the creation of new deliverables (e.g., products, services, or processes) and modifications to existing deliverables of varying complexity. The role involves collaboration with cross-functional teams, user groups, internal and external consultants, and other stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities:
- Plan, coordinate, and manage release activities for large-scale projects.
- Direct and lead cross-functional release teams, ensuring smooth execution.
- Assess cross-impacts of changes and manage change retrofits effectively.
- Work closely with internal departments and external consultants to ensure seamless releases.
- Utilize project management tools and methodologies to track and control releases.
- Influence key project participants and drive successful outcomes.
- Resolve conflicts professionally and build strong team relationships.
- Communicate effectively with stakeholders at various levels.
- Ensure adherence to industry best practices and organizational procedures.
Required Knowledge & Experience:
- Good knowledge of Open Text WEM.
- Strong expertise in ServiceNow, Confluence, and Jira.
- Working knowledge of Linux, Oracle, and Java technologies.
- University degree/college diploma and/or 7 to 10 years of industry experience.
- 5 to 7 years of experience in project and release management, including change assessment and change retrofits.
- Proven track record of managing large-scale releases as a Project Manager or Release Manager.
- Strong understanding of Enterprise business environments and products.
- Proficiency in project management tools (e.g., MS Project or equivalent).
