Our client is planning to migrate from traditional DWH solution to Microsoft Fabric.
The current team is eager to get started and we are looking for the right person to bridge the “old” and the “new” world of data platform development. This assignment will give you the role as architect combined with project management and data engineering.
The company has its headquarters in Bergen, Norway and operates within fishery. They have a yearly revenue of about 750 million Euro. Travel is not a requirement for this position. The current data platform team is located in Norway, Ukraine and Denmark.

Tasks and responsibilities:

Business Analysis and Solution Design: Analyze business processes and translate business needs into technical solutions, as well as propose improvements and future opportunities.

Data Integration: Design, build, test, and deploy modern and robust data pipelines, advanced ETL processes, data streams, APIs, and visualizations.

Data Analysis and Accessibility: Assist customers and colleagues in facilitating tools for data accessibility and analysis.

Data Architecture: Outline architectures, data warehouses, and databases that support data access and advanced analysis, and implement them through modern visualization tools.

Develop Best Practices: Contribute to defining standards and best practices for modern BI and AI solutions.

Support Itera’s Customers: Assist in the operation, management, and further development of their data platforms.
Professional requirements:
- You have a relevant master’s degree.
- You have at least 5 years of experience delivering data projects.
- MS Fabric (eventually Synapse, Databricks).
- Good understanding of DWH architecture and some experience with a modern data platform.
- Since we primarily work in Azure (Azure SQL server, Azure Data Factory, Azure Analysis Services, Microsoft Fabric), it is desirable that you are familiar with this technology.
- You are motivated to continuously update your technical skills, as we work in a rapidly evolving industry.
- English: Upper-Intermediate
Be a plus:
- A commercial mindset and experience as a consultant.
- Knowledge of services from other cloud providers (AWS, GCP).
- Experience from industries such as energy, industry, or finance.
- Experience in one or more of the following areas:
- Data processing (data wrangling, data quality control) for both structured data like time series and unstructured data like images.
- Data pipeline design and orchestration for streaming and batch data.
- Data modeling and governance.
- Knowledge of setting up a cloud-based data platform that enables data reporting and/or analytical projects.
- Creating technical solution architecture.
- Knowledge of and preferably experience with Microsoft Fabric.
